What? Your C185 phase already over??? That was a brief affair... You don't think you're gonna fall asleep, puttering along at 69knots?

I'm having trouble seeing the Google Docs page for the eligible aircraft. My password's not working there, so I'm resetting it.
In the meantime, is the Carenado C 185 "Window Door Floats" plane (not the amphibian) on the list, either for FSX or FS9?
If not, how about the FSX LionHeart Creations Piper Pacer float?
Both planes are already in with the other body styles, but I haven't seen anyone specifically using a float exclusively. Amphibians yes, but no floaters.
I figure if I gotta stay in the water for all legs, I'll do it in one of these two floatplanes, instead of an using an amphibian. Something different for a change. Thanks.

That sure does sound like the float C 185. I'll wait and see what the bosses say on that one.
I'm not sure, but I think the Float was a bit slower than the amphibian, but I didn't do it on a "test track", I just flew both planes in practicing the first leg of this month's Whisler 150.
I did find a nice repaint for the floater, but I haven't searched for any repaints for the Piper yet -sometimes there's just not enough hours in the day to get everything on the 'to-do' list done...
No LHC Piper float. That means I'll have to brush up on how to do the test flight thing.
Thanks for having a look at it for me DD.
EDIT: I went into the Google Docs page without being signed in, and can see everything there now -guess I should have done that the first time (a 'duh' moment for me there lol). I'd say that that FSX C185 Float is exactly what I need, the 3B3. In my case now there's no need to worry about a FS9 version listed there -the FSX version will be OK- but maybe the FS9 versions should be addressed and listed there too anyways for future FS9 flyers.
I see only one LHC Piper PA 20 -13B1, but many ones like A2A's and freeware Pipers, so not sure what's up there.

That sure does sound like the float C 185. I'll wait and see what the bosses say on that one. Yeah, the "Window Door Float" variation is just a different style of the standard float model (3B3). It only has a different texture, but still the same performance. Yes, the float model is the slowest of the bunch. It shouldn't affect your scoring performance (as the climbing capability is nearly the same as the wheeled one, and the top speed is handled by our handicapping system). Just be aware that you won't be able to pull off a short STOL landing with a floater (in leg 3). An amphibian will be ok (and perhaps even better than the wheeled version), but the landing won't be very short in the water... It all comes down to what somebody has in their hangar, and is willing to test. The planes listed in the spreadsheet that only have an "x" in the AID column have been suggested, but nobody has actually done a performance test for them. But I would suggest going with the C185 anyway. You do have some climbs on this race, and the Cub is not really that suited for those situations. (Teson wanted to first go with Cub too, but quickly changed his mind when he did some climbing tests.)
