Leg 2 complete. I did this one a bit different, and did this as a private flight, being DD said in the thread here: bprl.freeforums.net/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=69&page=1#481 that my results are putting spiderwebs in the kml's. Hopefully this might help. Settings screenshot below: If not, I have no idea on what to do next. I can't figure out how to stop my flights from duplicating on the Duenna Flight Tracking website (nor can Mr. Mueller and countless others in the flight sim community...), let alone spiderwebs in kml's... Anyways, pics from leg 2: Leaving Amatuli Cove: Arriving at Cape Douglas: Attachments:

You do seem to have your (un)fair share of issues with Duenna, but I don't know if running it as a private run is the answer. For one, nobody can see or download your data, so it can't really be confirmed. Secondly, it'll make it impossible for Dave's nice application, to show all runs in one view. Going by your "symptoms" it does look like a communications issue (either with your Wifi router at home, if you have one, or with your general Internet connection). Either or will be tricky to troubleshoot, but I would suggest to just continue flying regular public legs, and we'll just have to ignore the duplicate entries and spiderlegs.

HUMMM a WiFi connection might do that if the signal got a little jitter in it.
Its not a problem turn on the tracking and leave the real time position feed on.

I think you are right as far as the wifi thing goes. At one time I placed all the blame on the Duenna. That's not the case, or many others would have the same probs I do. I've only seen maybe a couple of other simmers have duplicate postings in two years, and I haven't seen any duplicates post lately... I think it does come down to my 'Net situation, being I'm running my main flying pc from a wireless N USB adapter feeding off the router plugged into the RCA modem two stories and 5 rooms away. I think it's also a very big reason why I cant mp flight with anyone in the RTW-style events in the FS community... I'm sure (with enough 'messing with the router'), that I could get the problems fixed, but I don't have much luck with router-messing, to be honest about it. I'm scared s-less to mess with it. Never turns out well when I do so... It would be very costly to run a wire from the main modem to my main flying pc (and the wife is never crazy about me drilling through floors and such), but that would clear my problems with Duenna and MP. That's not happening anytime soon, so I'll just have to stick with what I got. Even by a jerry-rigged setup like this, I still get 11.08 Mbps download, and 2.93 Mbps upload, pinging 350 miles away at 88 ms. That's decent 'Net speed and not too bad imo. Mainly, I didn't want to have my submissions screw up all the hard work DD has put into getting the kml to show all our flights, nor do I want to see him have to go through grief just to have my flight show up. I just figured I'd experiment, that's all. I had nothing to lose at this point. What DD created with our kml's is pretty nifty, and adds a whole new dimension to the BPRL events. I just hate being the dam monkey wrench thrown into the smooth-running machinery here. I'll go ahead and refly that leg publicly (if that's a word...lol). I have no problem with doing that. Thanks for putting up with me and my Duenna baggage bs gents...

If you do think your Wifi may be the flaky component, you might want to consider an external antenna. Certainly a lot easier than drilling lots of holes, and aggravating the wife... I've been using the Alfa AWUS036H when I need every last bit of signal, and it's a HUGE difference to any build-in antennas (and currently on some pretty good sale as well): www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000QYGNKQ

I really don't see this antenna making much more of a difference. You seem very up on anything in pc's, so let me ask you this: couldn't I go with something like this, www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1913637&CatId=74 , being I have a RJ-45 jack (a jack equipped with multi-colored LED's, one's a 'connectivity' LED and the other one an 'activity LED) in the back of my flying pc? This should plug straight from my pc into my main router, hence bypassing any need for any network adapter/antenna, correct? I have a Gigabyte M68MT-S2 motherboard. It's owner's manual says that I will get connections up to 1 Gbps -an Orange LED will indicate 1 Gbps transfer rate, and a green LED will indicate 100 Mbps transfer rate. Now how much transfer rate do I lose with 100 feet of cable affecting the transfer rate is anyone's guess I'm thinking... If this RJ-45 could possibly fix my multiplayer/Duenna woes, then I'd have no problems springing a 50 to put this cable in. It's not a expensive as I first thought. Direct cable connection still has to be way better than using any adapters imo... As far as wifey goes, I would just do it, then face the repercussions that might occur upon bringing up the 'floor-hole-drilling' matter to her first. It's much easier to ask for forgiveness later, rather than beg for permission now... ;D

Sure, running a cable will probably solve a lot of your problems (even if it might generate news ones with the wife), but unless you have to conform to some strict building code, you don't really need Plenum cables. Just get a regular Cat5 cable ( these guys will sell you an appropriate one for $11), and you should definitely see an improvement in stability. And, perhaps, if you get the pink ones, it might appease the wife...

Addendum: I got the Cat5 cable yesterday. Thanks once again for the Monoprice.com link Kris. To have a cable shipped from Cali to PA in record time like that is truly unreal -and Monoprice shipped it to me Priority -I didn't request Priority btw, Monoprice did that on their own -what a great company! Did my flight tonight with the new cable hooked up. Speeds are much faster, but I'm still getting the duplicate Duenna listings. Now it's time to mess with firewall/antivirus settings by the looks of it... ...back to the drawing board once again...
