Inspired by the gorgeous scenery, I'll be taking it easy this month. No test runs, no route optimization — instead of taking the shortest path, I'll be taking the most fun one... And scraping the roofs of some cars (like Teson asked us to do for the first leg) was definitely fun!

Well, perhaps I should've taken a few practice runs after all — my offroad landing in Whistler nearly had me tumbling down the hill. But luckily, only nearly...

LOL !
I think we have to throw a BIG party for the locals for them to close an eye on us ... ;D

It's all Teson's fault, for teaching me how to take screenshots, so here are some memorable moments from the first two legs. " Excuse me. Which way to Whistler?" Thank God we only have powerline towers, and not the actual lines yet... Landing on a downhill slope is probably not a good idea, but what you're gonna do, if you ended up in the wrong clearing?!

Nice ones ! That gave the locals something to talk about. And if a power line comes up unexpectedly - dive under, don't go over. ;D There's always enough place below.

Had some weird plane behavior right after take-off, where it just didn't want to go up. I would've suspected carburetor icing, but it was 16º outside, and I still had the engine heat on. So, I have no idea what happened... Next try (after rebooting FSX) went ok, and I definitely picked the scenic route this time. It's just too bad we didn't get a another bonus for going low. That would've been a nice route along the river; but doing that without bonus would've probably taken another 10 minutes. Teson beat me on the STOL landing by half a second, so no bonus there either. Oh well, as I said, this race was mainly about taking the most fun route, rather than the winning one. So — it was a good trip after all...

And squeezed in one more today. Another nice route with some deep, twisty valleys.

Well, so much for casual, scenic flying... After Teson had his little mishap, and got a penalty, my race instinct smelled blood, and I "had" to pick a straight, boring route once again...
