For the September race we go back to Alaska, for some beautiful and challenging valley runs. The race is split into six legs this time, but most of them are pretty short, so the overall time it takes to complete the race should be close to what previous races were. In order to stay with the spirit of bush-flying, we will have bonuses this month for the lowest flyers in every single leg! And not only for the first one, but the TOP THREE will receive a 10%, 7% or 5% bonus for each leg! So stay low, and it will most likely pay off! Since the results of the weather poll were pretty clear, we will stay with the static weather, and this month's weather file will be available on the GetWeather page, as soon as the race starts. sites.google.com/site/fsebprl/2013-valley-run

It seems that running the BPRL league has a weird effect on your house-buying urges. First Jimmy had his move from Hawaii to Alaska, and had to give up running the site, and now I am in the process of buying an old house, and moving in within a few weeks. I'm not sure if I will even be able to compete, but I will try my best to keep the site and scores updated as well as possible (but updates may not be as fast as they used to be). Hopefully my DSL move will work without a hitch — otherwise I might be without Internet for a while... I tried to contact Jimmy and Teson, to see if they can help out a bit, but haven't heard back from either (but I guess Teson was supposed to be "away" until the end of the month anyway). If anybody else here has experience with Google Sites or Google spreadsheets, and would be willing to help, I'd appreciate any assistance I could get. Also, if anybody has any ideas for future race courses, feel free to post them in the Proposals Forum. It doesn't have to be a fully worked-out route, but just a general concept, to start out with. Thanks, and have fun in Alaska!

Hi Kronzky, I can handle the spreadsheet and registration for this race, no problem. Updates will be slower than the speed we're used from you, but I should be able to update every day or two max. I have been thinking about two routes for future legs (Idaho creeks and french alps). Will post suggestions within a week or so. I can handle the next course creation and announcement if you are too tied up - I know that a house, and an old one at that, can keep one pretty busy. Tell me if things look too busy for you. But I hope you can find some time to fly with us nevertheless. See you in Alaska.

That's great news, Teson! Glad to have you back! The spreadsheets can get pretty complex by now (with all of our correction factors included), so it's good to have some help with them. Even though nearly 80% of my stuff is already boxed up, I did keep my flight controllers still out, so hopefully I will find some time during the next 4 weeks to actually use them...

This month's official weather situation has been posted on the GetWeather page, so make sure to download and use the one for September for this race.
